  • Gram Dal – 200 gms
  • Garlic – 4 pcs
  • Red Chilli – 3 pcs
  • Asafoetida Powder – ½ tsp
  • Coconut Milk – 1 cup
  • Chilli Powder – 1 tsp
  • Coriander Powder – 1 tsp
  • Cumin Powder – 1 tsp
  • Garam Masala – 1½ tsp
  • Ginger Garlic Paste 1 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder– ½ tsp
  • Onion – 1
  • Tomato – 2
  • Cumin – ½ tsp
  • Mustard
  • Cinnamon Leaf
  • Lavangam
  • Clove
  • Coriander Leaf
  • Curry Leaf

  2. Soak the bengal gram for 3 hours and strain the water well.
  3. Coarsely grind the soaked Bengal gram with cumin seeds, garlic, red chilli, a pinch Of asafetida and salt as per your requirement.
  4. Next grind the coconut with water separately and filter it this water is known as coconut milk.
  5. Cut the tomato, onion in to cubes.
  6. In a frying pan, pour oil allow it to heat.
  7. The Bengal gram batter can be rolled in to small balls flat it on the top and make vadas by deep frying it. Simmer the flame and fry.
  8. Keep a small amount of batter a side without frying.
  9. In an another pan, add mustard seeds, urad dal and sauté it with 1tsp of oil. In that add a small piece of chinamon, 1 spoon of aniseed, 1bay leaf, one or two cloves and fry well.
  10. And then add tomato, 1tsp ginger Garlic paste, a pinch of salt and mix well.
  11. After the tomato is half cooked add red chilli powder, coriander seeds powder, cumin seeds powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder and mix it, then add the bengal gram batter( a small amount which is kept aside) and cook well until the masala smell goes.
  12. Allow to cook well, after five minutes add the vadas one by one then add coconut milk to it.
  13. Don’t overcook after adding the coconut milk.
  14. On the top of it garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
  15. Your Vadacurry is ready. It goes with Appam, Idiyappam, Dosas, Curd rice. fulfill your taste buds by taking it
