- Ingredients
- Gram Dal – 200 gms
- Garlic – 4 pcs
- Red Chilli – 3 pcs
- Asafoetida Powder – ½ tsp

- Cumin Powder – 1 tsp

- Soak the bengal gram for 3 hours and strain the water well.
- Coarsely grind the soaked Bengal gram with cumin seeds, garlic, red chilli, a pinch Of asafetida and salt as per your requirement.
- Next grind the coconut with water separately and filter it this water is known as coconut milk.
- Cut the tomato, onion in to cubes.
- In a frying pan, pour oil allow it to heat.
- The Bengal gram batter can be rolled in to small balls flat it on the top and make vadas by deep frying it. Simmer the flame and fry.
- Keep a small amount of batter a side without frying.
- In an another pan, add mustard seeds, urad dal and sauté it with 1tsp of oil. In that add a small piece of chinamon, 1 spoon of aniseed, 1bay leaf, one or two cloves and fry well.
- And then add tomato, 1tsp ginger Garlic paste, a pinch of salt and mix well.
- After the tomato is half cooked add red chilli powder, coriander seeds powder, cumin seeds powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder and mix it, then add the bengal gram batter( a small amount which is kept aside) and cook well until the masala smell goes.
- Allow to cook well, after five minutes add the vadas one by one then add coconut milk to it.
- Don’t overcook after adding the coconut milk.
- On the top of it garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
- Your Vadacurry is ready. It goes with Appam, Idiyappam, Dosas, Curd rice. fulfill your taste buds by taking it
